The window gaskets should be lubricated at least once a year with technical petroleum jelly or silicone for gaskets to ensure proper functioning of the window.
For window cleaning, you can use ordinary cleaning agents diluted in warm water and soft sponges or cloths. Do not use aggressive, solvent-based or scouring agents and do not use objects such as spatulas, wire brushes, rough sponges or similar.
We recommend that you remove the protective film on window profiles as soon as possible after installing the windows (ideally within 3 months of installation). Keeping the foil on the window for too long may lead to its vulcanisation and the so-called melting into the profile, which may cause discolouration on the profile surface. In the case of further finishing works carried out in the room where the window is installed, it is necessary to protect it with a regular film, which will protect the window against possible damage.
(PVC) / (ALU) windows are very airtight by nature, so we have to allow the moisture to escape from the room and lead to the air exchange. We should leave the windows in the tilted position for at least 15-30 minutes a day, we can also use the micro-ventilation function or the winter-summer function in the window, then with a minimal tilting of the window we ensure the inflow of fresh air.
To ensure the proper functioning of the window hardware at least once a year, it should be lubricated to ensure light operation of the window and to protect the hardware from premature wear of its components. Only grease or machine oil without resins or acids should be used. This is available from EUROCOLOR showrooms or specialised dealers.
The phenomenon of water vapour condensation on the inside of the pane results from the following factors: climate conditions outside, the air temperature inside the buildings, the humidity level inside the building, ventilation intensity and temperature on the window surface. The best way to limit this phenomenon is to capture the water vapour already at the moment of its formation (e.g. kitchen, bathroom), for this purpose ventilators can be used. Proper heating and ventilation of rooms are also very important.
If the scratches are shallow, a special correction pen can be used for this. It enables you to tint the surface of the window in a suitable colour. The paint contained in it is resistant to light and weather conditions. Correction pens in the desired veneer colour can be purchased from EUROCOLOR showrooms. Grinding the veneer and using chemicals may lead to permanent damage to the window surface. In the case of severe damage, we recommend contacting the EUROCOLOR Service Centre, which has specialised equipment to repair the veneer.
Yes and no. Yes, because in principle it requires no special attention or care from us. No, because you have to lubricate the hardware at least once a year in the places intended for this..
The purchase of windows is a very important decision, the consequences of which will be felt during their use for many years. When choosing windows for your home in addition to the quality, tightness parameters, thermal transmittance, and waterproofness, it is worth taking into account the experience, opinions of friends or neighbours, the reliability of the manufacturer and the warranty period. It is also very important to precisely measure and select the right product - tailored to the customer's needs, i.e., taking into account the necessary functionality and professional installation. That is why the very process of consulting and professional assistance of tradesmen is so important. A wrong decision, often dictated by haste or low price, usually results in frustration during the use of poorly chosen window joinery.
This means that when both sashes are opened, no mullion (element dividing the quarters) is visible.
The minimum size for a non-opening window (fixed in the frame) is 300 x 300 mm. For a function window, e.g. with a tilt and turn function, it is 410 x 410 mm.
REHAU, SCHÜCO, and VEKA profiles are equivalent in quality and technical terms, each of them having distinguishing features making it unique, e.g. Rehau windows have HDF coating, which provides unprecedented whiteness and gloss of profiles. To meet the needs of its customers, EUROCOLOR strives to offer the widest possible product range.
Yes, already in the standard and without additional charges we use handles with the Secustik function, providing additional protection against attempts to break the window. Moreover, the fittings which we use as standard have four anti-burglary strikers in each quarter. Ultimately, each window may be "upgraded" with e.g. anti-burglary glass P2 or P4 or fittings of RC-2 class.
We always check the feasibility of windows by comparing their size with the maximum dimensions permitted in a given window system. Due to the variety of solutions, we can always select the optimum one for a given application. If it is not possible to manufacture a given structure due to excessive overall dimensions, we recommend aluminium windows whose profiles are characterised by greater rigidity than PVC profiles.
A window's Uw is the amount of power (equivalent to heat) that passes through each square metre of a window when the difference between the temperature inside and outside is equal to one Kelvin. The lower the Uw, the more energy-efficient the window.
Rw is the sound insulation value. It is expressed in decibels (dB). The higher the Rw value, the better the window isolates from outside noise and therefore makes the home quieter. A typical modern window has a sound insulation value of approximately 30 dB.
The g-factor tells you how much solar energy will pass through the glass (how much the sun can heat the room). It is assumed that the window's g-factor is equal to that of the glazing. It is difficult to determine whether higher is better - with large windows installed on the south side, it may turn out that the costs of cooling in summer (air conditioning) are greater than what will be saved on heating in winter (so a smaller g would be advisable). On the north side, a high g-factor may be advisable in certain cases). The decision is up to the investor. The warmest double-glazed units usually have a low g-factor (well below 50% - e.g. Ug = 0.5 has a factor of 37%).
Since the time of the first windows (PVC), the technology of profiles, seals and glazing has undergone many improvements and innovations. Today, by using dedicated solutions, it is possible to significantly reduce the audible noise level in the flat. However, the condition is the application of a complex solution and the key element is the selection of an appropriate sound-absorbing glass (a different glass will work in the city centre, a different one next to an airport), the application of an appropriate profile (the best effects are obtained by profiles with a central seal), as well as careful installation, using special materials (sound-absorbing foam). As always, the effect is commensurate with the complexity of the applied solution.
The times when aluminium was used only in blocks of flats or office buildings are gone forever. Currently, you can equip your house with aluminium joinery dedicated to single-family houses. Often its thermal parameters are equal to PVC, and the construction possibilities allow for the implementation of larger sizes. In the case of high-budget projects, the use of aluminium reinforces the impression of solidity and modernity of the project, it is even possible to make "glass houses" using the mullion and transom façade structures.
The door systems have a reinforcement system which effectively prevents the sashes and frames from twisting and falling. Profiles used for the construction of frames and wings are equipped with reinforcements in the form of steel sections located along the entire length of the edge of each door element, ensuring their stability and durability.
We do not recommend this solution as this type of doors, as their name suggests, are intended for use inside the building e.g. as passages in staircases, office entrances etc. The difference between internal and entrance doors lies not only in their appearance but mainly in the type of hardware used and the way of locking. Internal doors are bolted only with a cassette or espagnolette, whereas entrance doors (PVC) are equipped with espagnolettes, hooks, bolts, etc. These elements significantly affect their safety and make it difficult for third parties to get inside the house or flat..
Windows are one of the main sources of heat loss in a building structure. Using external roller shutters you can easily reduce this undesirable effect. Between the window and the roller shutter armour, there is a so-called "air cushion", which acts as an additional insulating layer. When you close your EUROCOLOR roller shutters in winter, you reduce the energy demand of your building, thus significantly reducing the heating costs, even by up to 25%.
